Startup Award: A Stage for Science-Based Innovation
Initiated by Berliner Sparkasse and the Science & Startups network of the Berlin University Alliance, the Startup Award is presented annually to Berlin’s most innovative, research-driven startup. In the festive setting of Berliner Sparkasse’s venue at Wannsee, nine finalists from the university startup ecosystem presented their ventures to an audience of around 200 invited guests – including investors, policymakers, scientists, and media representatives.
The jury – composed of Eve Büchner, Madlen Dietrich, Dr. Bernhard Bobusch, Christian Segal, Christian Stigler, and Günther Pätz – especially praised Get2Germany for its strong societal impact, its well-developed technical implementation concept, and its clear scalability.
The audience agreed: Get2Germany received the most votes in the live voting and was additionally awarded the Audience Choice Award.
A Prize with Tradition – and Significance
The Startup Award has been presented for over ten years. More than just a trophy, it is a springboard for science-based entrepreneurship in Berlin. Close collaboration between universities, startup support services, and partners from business and government has created a unique ecosystem that unites innovation, social relevance, and economic growth.
Science & Startups – the joint startup service of Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin – supports early-stage companies with infrastructure, guidance, networks, and space, forming a central pillar of Berlin’s innovation landscape.
The entire Get2Germany team extends its heartfelt thanks to all supporters, partners, jury members, and the audience for their trust, recognition, and encouragement.
This award is both a validation and a driving force for us. We are thrilled about the recognition – and even more excited for what lies ahead.
