Approbation docs: notarized?

Question

For Ärztekammer in Bayern: do they need notarized copies for documents for Approbation, or simple scans are ok? I'm afraid to send originals.

General rule: never send originals unless they explicitly ask. Many Approbation authorities want certified copies plus sworn translations. Some accept scans first, but final decision usually needs certified documents.
• Prepare 2–3 certified sets
• Keep originals with you for later verification
• Ask the Bayern authority in writing what they accept and whether they need Apostille or legalization

Requirements differ by Bundesland, so follow the official checklist first.

In my case they accepted simple copies first, but later requested certification for diploma. Better prepare certified sets.
