Degree check or professional recognition?
anabin, run by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) of the Standing Conference of Education Ministers (KMK), helps classify a foreign qualification within the German education system. The ZAB can also issue a statement of comparability for a university degree, but it does not entitle you to work in a regulated profession.
Most health professions on this page are regulated. To work under a protected title such as Arzt or Pflegefachfrau/Pflegefachmann, you need a licence or permission from the competent state authority, which compares your training with the German qualification. The guides below explain that procedure for each profession.
