Passing the exam is not the last step, but the remaining ones are mostly administrative:
• The chamber sends the exam result to the Approbationsbehörde. That transfer alone can take a couple of weeks, and asking the chamber to send it promptly does no harm.
• The authority then completes the file. In most Bundesländer they need a current Führungszeugnis and a health fitness certificate that are not older than the specified limit, typically around three months. If yours have expired during the waiting time, order the new ones now rather than after the exam.
• Once the file is complete, the Urkunde is issued and in many places has to be collected in person, sometimes with a short formal handover.
• Plan for a few weeks between the exam and the certificate in hand, and tell your future employer that range rather than a single date.
One practical point: you may only work as a doctor once the Approbation or a valid Berufserlaubnis actually exists. A passed exam alone is not permission to start.
