Hello Fawzi! It's very good that you both already have German language skills - that is an important basis for being recognized as a doctor in Germany. I understood that you currently do not yet have a German Approbation (this is the state license or unrestricted work permit to work as a doctor in Germany) and no concrete job offer. Under these conditions, the visa for the recognition of foreign professional qualifications according to §16d Aufenthaltsgesetz (AufenthG) is the right choice for both of you. This so-called Recognition Visa allows you to enter Germany without an employment contract and without a German Approbation in order to prepare specifically for the recognition of your medical degree. 🅰️ The prerequisite for the visa according to §16d Aufenthaltsgesetz is a determination or Defizitbescheid from the responsible authority in Germany, stating which knowledge or qualifications you are still missing. You will receive this if you start the Approbationsprozess in the federal state of your choice and your degree is classified as not equivalent. In addition, you need a registration confirmation for the planned qualification measures and German language skills at least at level A2 (in practice mostly B1 or B2, especially for medical professions). The cost of living during your stay must also be secured, for example through a remuneration certificate, a blocked account or a declaration of commitment. 🅱️ In addition to this classic recognition visa, there is a second option, the so-called Partnership Scheme (Anerkennungspartnerschaft) according to §16d Abs. 3 AufenthG. However, this option requires that an employer in Germany supports you. This means: You need an agreement with a clinic or practice that employs and accompanies you during the recognition procedure. The recognition procedure then only starts after entry, but you may already be active under supervision. 👶🏽 Your baby needs their own Familiennachzugsvisum so that you can enter Germany together. You apply for this together with your applications at the German Embassy in Algiers. For all official information and forms, I recommend two helpful sources: the Visa Navigator of the Federal Foreign Office and the website of the German Embassy in Algiers. There you will find current information, download forms such as the Visa application, as well as information on the documents to be submitted and appointments.
